Andre Braugher is switching to the
other side of the law in Thief, a new FX drama due in late March.
known as Detective Frank Pembleton on NBC's long-running Homicide, Braugher
is now Nick Atwater, an equally complex character who leads a double life: "He's
got the mind-set of a thief, the struggle of trying to go straight, and the natural
attraction of a criminal enterprise," the actor says. He's a stepfather to a girl
who actively dislikes him; he has a posse of criminal pals, including Yancey Arias
and Malik Yoba, who use an antique-car dealership as a front.
